Health Care
Health Care Programs:
Minnesota Health Care Programs (MHCP) provide health care coverage to eligible families with children, adults, people with disabilities and seniors. You can find general information about Minnesota Health Care programs by clicking here.
Medical Assistance (MA):  also known as Medicaid. This is a health care program that pays for medical care of low income people as well as some individuals with a disability. MA also pays for Long Term Care (LTC) services and Home and Community Based Waivers.
MinnesotaCare (MNcare): is a health care program for people who live in Minnesota who do not have access to affordable health insurance. There are eligibility requirements that need to be met and there is a premium for this coverage.
If you are over age 65, disabled, or entering long term care, please contact Big Stone County Family Service for a health care application.
Please contact Big Stone County at (320) 839-2555 if you are unsure where to apply for health care or want to complete a paper application.
