Ordinations
To legally perform a marriage ceremony in Minnesota, you must register with a Minnesota county before performing the ceremony.
Registration Requirements
Age: Applicants must be 21 years of age or older.
Certificate of Filing: Fill out the Certificate of Filing form. You can do this either in person or by mail. If applying in person, the Certificate of Filing must be signed at the office; if applying by mail, it must be signed in front of a notary. You’ll need to present government-issued identification when signing.
Credentials: Provide your credentials, ordination certificate, or letter of good standing, if applicable under Minn Stat 517.05. Original documents will be returned once filed.
Filing Fee: A $20 filing fee is required.
